My Pokémon Collection - Part 9
Sharing even more treasures from my personal collection of Pokémon items
Feature: My Pokémon Collection (Part 9)
I do wonder sometimes how on earth I manage to accumulate and store all of these Pokémon items, but I'm back once again to share some more of them with you! Many of these were originally released in the late 90s and early 2000s. Some were mine from childhood, while others were purchased later. There’s also a couple of modern items, as well as a very special item which is completely unique, and very special to me.
Mewtwo and Pikachu light up keychains (Tiger Electronics)

It has been many years now, but I believe I picked up both the Mewtwo and Pikachu light up keychains from my local pound shop (dollar store) in the early 2000s, like I did with many Pokémon items from back then. My guess is that the store bought lots of leftover stock which wouldn’t sell in other stores. I know for a fact that both of these worked for many years, but sadly they stopped lighting up long ago.
Pokémon marbles (Toy Biz)
Over the past few years I have purchased a few bags of Pokémon marbles from eBay, and from toy fairs. I now have several bags, each filled with multiple different marbles. All of these came in pouches, although sadly the drawstring wasn’t present on some of them. Perhaps I can repair these at some point? I used to have regular marbles growing up, and one could say I've lost my marbles as I've gotten older…
These were produced by a company called Toy Biz in the early 2000s over three different sets, fifty in each. A 151st marble featuring Mew was also available, which I was able to obtain. They came in a variety of different colours too. I wonder if I can complete a set someday?
Poké Ball Collector Marble Shooter (Toy Biz)

This Pokémon Marble Shooter is pretty cool! I purchased it from eBay with a bag of marbles in September 2023, and had a fun couple of hours testing it out. This one features Blastoise, but Venusaur and Charizard were also originally available when the product was on sale. The toy has a motorised rotating marble tray, and a marble magnifier which allows you to see the marble inside more clearly. Personally I think it’s a really cool toy, and I wish I had it growing up as it's definitely the sort of thing I would have played with non-stop.
Mew and Mewtwo Pokémon Bouncers (Hasbro)

I spent a lot of time in my local pound shop, and two other items I bought were these Mewtwo and Mew Pokémon Bouncers. I can’t remember what other options there were, but I know I picked these two in particular because it reminded me of the scene in Pokémon: The First Movie, where the two Pokémon fought one another, surrounded by an orb of light. Unfortunately these Bouncers have faded over the years, and look more murky than they originally did.
Pokémon Terrarium Collection (re-Ment)
Pokémon Terrarium Collection (re-Ment)
In recent times I have been picking up some of these cool Pokémon Terrariums, which feature a figure of specific Pokémon. These are sold at retail as blind boxes as part of a series, which means you don’t know what one you’re going to get until you open it. They can also be purchased as a complete set.
Of the four I currently own, I purchased three of them (Celebi, Suicune, and Mewtwo) separately from a couple of stores I visited. Tepig (not pictured) was an unfortunate tale, as I bought it as a blind box from the 14th collection, despite wanting Metagross. While I don’t hate Tepig, I was disappointed not to get the product I really wanted.
Pokémon Nanoblocks (Kawada)
A friend of mine bought me a non-Pokémon Nanoblock product as a gift back in 2023, and I enjoyed assembling it. In 2024, my nephew gave me Venusaur and Lapras Nanoblocks as a gift, which I assembled on a live stream. Since then, I purchased a couple of my own, featuring Dragonite and Articuno, and got lucky on eBay and purchased a further ten from a third party seller very cheaply, which came already assembled. The plan is to disassemble and then re-assemble them during some Twitch streams.
Rowlet felt plush
Last but not least, I would like to share my Rowlet felt plush, which a friend of mine gave to me when he visited from Japan back in October 2024. When he told me that he had spent three days making it for me, and brought it all the way from Japan to the United Kingdom to give to me, I was touched. It’s such a thoughtful gift of my favourite Pokémon, and I absolutely treasure it.
