Between August 14th and September 30th at 20:00 UTC, fans can participate in our Grand Final, to vote for their favourite Pokémon. Finalists were decided through a preliminary poll, which took place between May 17th and July 31st, 2025. The results of that poll, can be found here.

• The winner will be announced in October 2025

Vote for your favourite Pokémon in our poll, and encourage your friends to do the same!

After the success of our Favourite Starter Pokémon Poll 2024, I wanted to conduct a much larger experiment to determine which Pokémon is the fans’ favourite. Between May 17th and July 31st, 2025, Johto Times will run a poll for each Pokémon generation, from Kanto to Paldea, and invite Pokémon fans to cast their vote on their favourites!

• Participants can vote for their six favourite Pokémon in each poll.
• Each poll will run for ten weeks, between May 17th and July 31st, 2025.
• In August 2025 we will reveal the results of each poll, and the top ten Pokémon from each will move through to the grand final, which will take place later that month.
• Please spread the word and tell your friends!

Update: July 31st: Voting is now closed! Thank you to everyone who cast their votes. Please stay tuned to Johto Times to discover the results of the first part of this poll, ahead of our grand final, which will take place in August.

Update: June 16th (Special thanks): Since the poll began, it has been widely shared on social media, and on various Pokémon fansites. This update recognises and thanks Duspey, PokeCommunity, Bulbagarden, and Bulbapedia for their help and support in helping the poll reach over 200,000 votes (and counting). I am immensely grateful!

Update: May 22nd (Clarification): Pokémon which are tied jointly within the top ten will progress to the grand final. For example, if by the end of the poll, two Pokémon have the same number of votes in tenth position, both of these Pokémon will progress through to the grand final.
